2025-26 Budget Advisory Council

The Budget Advisory Council (BAC) plays a vital role in ensuring transparency and inclusivity in VIU’s budget development process. Through an open and consultative approach, the Council engages the university community in discussions about the budget process, gathers feedback and makes recommendations for the annual Operating Budget Plan. The BAC also produces reports that reflect community input and helps to increase communication about budget matters across the university.

The BAC was established by the President & Vice-Chancellor in 2024 to advise and make recommendations on budgetary matters. BAC members do not serve as representatives of particular interests and were chosen for their knowledge, individual expertise and to ensure fair representation of employee groups as well as students. The 2025-26 membership of the Council includes:
