As part of the new Policy Framework, every policy will go through a number of standard steps. Please refer to the Policy Renewal Process and the Policy Framework for more information about the policy development process.
Before proceeding through the Board of Governor’s approval process, members of the university community are invited to provide input and feedback on each policy as part of the open consultation period.
Consultation period update
Consultation is open for the following policies:
| Policy | Consultation dates |
|---|---|
| AD06: Acceptable Use of Information Technology and Information Security | February 18 to March 10, 2026 |
| GC07: Risk Management | February 18 to March 10, 2026 |
| GC08: Safe Disclosure (whistle-blower) | February 18 to March 10, 2026 |
Each policy page includes a description of the policy development process and a link to the full policy and procedures (if any). These pages also provide instructions for how to submit feedback on the policy and procedures (where applicable).
Next steps
Once consultation is complete, policies go through the Board of Governors approval process. The policies may be updated based on the feedback received. The policy office may also make minor changes to formatting/wording for consistency. Consultation feedback and policy changes will be outlined in consultation reports. Consultation reports will be provided to the Board of Governors and posted on individual policy pages.
